Creativity, personality and a touch of pizzazz will go a long way when you take the city head-on when shopping. If you are looking for a great place to spend a day shopping, KC is the place for you. Blair Stover has picked out a few spots that are perfect for shopping and here they are:

Named Pryde’s Old Westport, this pleasant home store and kitchen located at 115 Westport is one place you cannot miss. If you walk anywhere near this hot spot, you will be caught off guard by its wonderful aroma and fantastic smells of gourmet food.

Afterwards, you can take a stroll just a couple blocks down to 314 Westport to visit Bon Bon Atelier and learn how to sew from the Blodgett Sisters. You can shop around their store to find one of a kind home furnishings or custom jewelry.

KC’s Arts District is full of people who think outside the box and 1500 Grand Ave. is loaded with modern art that you will not find anywhere else. If you are in search for some new clothes or shoes, you might want to head a few blocks down the road to 1914 Grand. There you will find Bob Jones Shoes. Even though it may not look like much when you are standing outside the shop, once you get inside- one word will hit you… WOW!

Country Club Plaza

This plaza is unique because it was the first one designed uniquely for the automobile.  This is one of those must see places when you visit Kansas City. You can head on over to the Three-Dog Bakery if you are a lover of dogs or you can pick up some souvenirs at Carolyn Payne Tiles, who carries images of the Plaza.
