When summer hits and school is out of session, it’s the time to start deciding what to do with your children to keep them entertained for the summer months. There are many vacation ideas you can choose and any of them will help to make memories that will last all of you a life time.

Whether you’re looking for a road trip or a fun “staycation”, you can take some time to plan a great summer vacation. Have you ever considered a free Italian festival in Kansas City? This is an annual event that is fun for adults and children and is full of shopping, food, and fun activities. Kansas City also hosts an annual Riverfest event that takes place along the banks of the Missouri River.

A Disney vacation has long been a favorite for children young and old. The Disney parks are continually adding new events, shows and rides and feature all time favorite characters and new Disney favorites. It may take a while to get through the whole park so you want to make certain your vacation is long enough.

For some families, vacations are the perfect time to get back to nature with either a camping or a hiking trip. Backyard camp outs are also fun if you’re looking for a vacation that’s close to home. Even a night or two at a local campsite is a great way to just get away from it all.

Regardless of where you spend your family vacation, as long as you spend some time and effort planning—and let the kids get involved in the planning, you can make your summer one to remember.
